The Bill??

Yeah, the bill...by that I mean what's going on around Tokyo, as far as craft beer events are concerned. If you know me, you'll know I can't resist a play on words as I am All about dad-jokes. Plus, if you understand Japanese you'll know 'bill' and 'beer' sound exactly the same. :)

Anyway, here you can find upcoming festivals, tap-takeovers and other events of interest to a hop-head like yourself. And maybe a few other things I take notice of.

And if you know of something happening that would be good for the list, by all means do let me know! Cheers!

Events 2026

September 18 - October 12

Urban Dock Lalaport, Toyosu

One of two event venues going on this autumn, celebrating German Oktoberfest!

Pretty much every German food and beverage company in Japan will represent at this most prestigious beer party...only 500 yen entry with music and a great German vibe. Not to miss!

September 12 -13

Osanbashi Hall, Nihon-odori Stn., Yokohama

A huge two-day event by Yokohama Bay -- expect a ticket price of 6000 yen or more (6600 yen at the door). If you're early you may get a limited-edition sampling glass you can fill with your choice of over 200 beers! Good energy, good variety, good quality.

September 11 - 23

Shiba Park, Onarimon Stn.

One of two event venues going on this autumn, celebrating German Oktoberfest!

Pretty much every German food and beverage company in Japan will represent at this most prestigious beer party...only 500 yen entry with music and a great German vibe. Not to miss!

August 7 - 11

Machida Shibahiro, Machida City, Kanagawa

The second weekend of the Oedo Beer Festival, offering many of the same brewers as last week, plus a few new ones. As usual, OBF runs in two 'seasons': July 29 to August 2 and August 7 to 11.

Again, the festival is free, but I'm not sure what payment methods are available at each stall.

Check the website for details and be mindful of the weather...rain could change the schedule.

August 2

The Aldgate, Shibuya-ku

Everyone's favorite British pub is celebrating 31 years...whoa! Stop in for a bit of food, a pint or two, and yes, bagpipes!  That's unique! A live piper will perform throughout the evening for your entertainment. :)

Open from 5PM, music begins from 7PM.

See you there!

July 31 - August 2

Roppongi, Minato-ku

If you've never been to Ant'n'Bee, as a craft beer fan you've been missing out! I myself used to spend quite a bit of time at the original location, as I worked in the area, and really enjoyed their food and beer choices.

Anyway, I got their postcard in the mail, announcing the celebration of their Ryudocho Roppongi location -- 7 years now! If you need an excuse to get out and get a quality pint, this is a great one. :)

Kampai!

July 29 - August 2

Machida Shibahiro, Machida City, Kanagawa

One of the best ways to cool off in summer is with craft beer, and the Oedo Beer Festival offers many options. It runs in two seasons: July 29 to August 2 and August 7 to 11.

Various breweries, including Isekado and Gassan Beer, will showcase their beer.

The festival is free, with payment at each vendor's stall. I'm not sure about payment methods; I expect the (Japanese) website has details mentioned somewhere but I couldn't see it...bring cash just in case. :)

July 18 - 20

Hibiya Park, Chiyoda-ku

To celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States, the open-air American Festival will take place at Hibiya Park from July 18th to 20th. The event will feature authentic American barbecue, craft beers, cocktails, and various American food products. Attendees are encouraged to wear American-style outfits.

I note that Antenna America will be there, along with a few other brewers I've not had a chance to experience yet...details via the link above!
